MEET THE COUNSELLOR:
Cheryl Fiske has been the counsellor at Springvalley Middle School since 2009. She brings a variety of experience to her counselling role, including 15+ years with School District #23, and five years as a community-based Youth and Family Counsellor. Ms. Fiske holds a Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of Victoria (2006), and an undergraduate degree in Education from UBC Vancouver (2000). She lives in Kelowna with her husband, two daughters, and the cutest pug ever. CounsellingMost students need support at one time or another, and the school counsellor can help! Whether you need one-time advice, ongoing support, or a referral to mental health professional, Ms. Fiske is available to get you the help you need. Career ProgramsStudents are required to take Careers classes at middle school. We use MyBlueprint software to explore skills, preferences and goals as they pertain to the world of work. Occasionally, there are field trips and other exploration oppotunities for students at SMS.

Travel ExchangeCANCELLED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
Springvalley Middle School takes part in an annual travel exchange through Experiences Canada. In previous years, we have visited Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto, Niagara Falls, Kingston, Saskatoon and more. Students in Grade 7 and 8 may apply to take part in this amazing opportunity. |
